Software Engineer (Fullstack, AI)

Location: Boston or New England-based candidates; hybrid remote with 2–3 days per month at the Boston office, with more on-site time expected during ramp-up. Remote work is limited to Massachusetts.

Salary: $165,000–$260,500 annually. For specific work locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $205,000–$307,000 annually.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deploy cloud and edge network infrastructure across AWS and GCP, including Go and Caddy modules running on GCE.
• Own the deployment path, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and observability.
• Contribute to ML pipelines that optimize routing, caching, and content delivery decisions.
• Work with real-user and synthetic performance data in collection and analytics pipelines.
• Build self-healing systems that detect, diagnose, and resolve production issues automatically.
• Help invent autonomous agent architecture that can operate unattended and hand work back to people or other agents.

Requirements

• Must be based in Boston or New England, with remote work from Massachusetts and regular attendance at the Boston office.
• 5+ years of software development or engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Experience designing and operating backend services in production, including failure modes and deployment considerations.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, ownership, and continuous-learning skills.
• Technical foundations in one or more of Python, Go, Rust, Java, or C/C++, plus data structures, algorithms, networking, and web technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience with web performance metrics such as LCP and CLS.
• Familiarity with edge/CDN internals, ML for real-world decision-making, or data pipelines.
• Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or React.
• Interdisciplinary academic or professional background.
