Full Stack Engineer (Python/Node)

Salary: $120,000–$155,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop an enterprise-level platform-as-a-service for secure, compliant government sites and applications.
• Work across backend development, frontend development, analysis, and design within a cross-functional team.
• Build and consume RESTful APIs and integrate with external systems.
• Design and implement cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Apply test-driven development with full code coverage and deliver demonstrable software regularly.
• Collaborate on user-centered design, changing requirements, technical tradeoffs, and product quality.

Requirements

• 5+ years of development experience.
• Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience.
• Strong Python and Node/TypeScript development skills.
• Experience with relational database management systems, particularly PostgreSQL.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Experience with cloud and PaaS technologies such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Cloud Foundry, or cloud.gov.
• Experience with test-driven development.
• Experience with GitHub Actions and Jenkins for continuous integration.
• Strong time-management, communication, problem-solving, adaptability, and judgment when navigating technical tradeoffs.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating with a variety of external systems.
• Experience with authentication and authorization solutions such as Keycloak, ZITADEL, Supabase Auth, or AWS Cognito.
• Experience with Astro, Next, React, Vue, Svelte, or other frontend frameworks; the current stack includes Astro, React, and Lit.
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and web standards.
• Experience with a design system such as the U.S. Web Design System.
