Senior Facilities Engineer

Location: Torrance, California, United States

Salary: $136,000–$190,500 USD per year, plus potential equity grants.

What you will do

• Own the technical performance, reliability, and long-term development of electrical, HVAC, exhaust, compressed air, process gas, plumbing, cleanroom, laboratory, and other building utility systems.
• Evaluate infrastructure capacity and operational risk, troubleshoot recurring failures, and lead root-cause analysis and emergency response.
• Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Production, EHS, and equipment owners to define utility requirements for new machines, processes, laboratories, and production areas.
• Develop long-range infrastructure strategies, capacity plans, technical roadmaps, and capital investment priorities for manufacturing growth.
• Build preventative and corrective maintenance strategies, including inspection schedules, spare-part planning, system ownership, and reliability improvements.
• Maintain the facility Master Layout, AutoCAD documentation, utility maps, diagrams, equipment schedules, redlines, and as-built drawings through site walks and field verification.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in facilities engineering, industrial infrastructure, manufacturing facilities, or a similar environment.
• Strong understanding of industrial electrical distribution, HVAC, compressed air, process utilities, plumbing, and exhaust systems.
• Experience evaluating manufacturing equipment utility requirements, troubleshooting facility systems, conducting root-cause analysis, and supporting preventative maintenance programs.
• Ability to interpret architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and controls drawings; proficiency with AutoCAD and facility as-built documentation.
• Ability to work directly in mechanical and electrical rooms, manufacturing spaces, rooftops, equipment areas, and active construction environments while collaborating across technical and operational teams.

Nice to have

• PE or EIT certification.
• Experience with long-range infrastructure planning, maintenance budgets, capital planning, or operating plans.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, automotive, or similarly complex industrial facilities.
• Experience with cleanrooms, laboratories, process gases, hazardous-material infrastructure, BAS/BMS, CMMS, utility metering, energy management, or capacity modeling.
• Experience commissioning facility systems or managing facilities technicians, electricians, and service vendors.
