TL;DR
Electrical Engineer (Critical Infrastructure & Facilities) (Aerospace Facilities): Developing and executing facility improvement, construction, and critical infrastructure projects for aerospace manufacturing sites with an accent on electrical power distribution, HVAC, plumbing, utilities, and regulatory compliance. Focus on managing engineering, procurement, construction, and activation, coordinating contractors and utility providers, and troubleshooting complex facility systems.

Location: Onsite in Redondo Beach, United States; occasional work at the Mojave test site. Flexible schedule and travel as needed.

Salary: $115,000–$165,000 per year, plus potential stock options and benefits.

What you will do

  • Develop, plan, and execute facility improvement, construction, and infrastructure projects.
  • Manage project budgets, vendors, contractors, consultants, schedules, risks, and stakeholder communications.
  • Lead engineering, procurement, construction, and facility activation activities.
  • Design and oversee electrical power distribution, HVAC, plumbing, water infrastructure, buildings, grounds, and critical power systems.
  • Coordinate with utility providers to ensure reliable power for critical site infrastructure.
  • Evaluate existing facilities, implement operational improvements, and resolve field questions and technical conflicts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in engineering or a related technology field.
  • 4+ years of experience in facilities engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with facility drawings and layouts, electrical and power distribution systems below 600 Vac, plumbing, HVAC, and facility grounding.
  • Knowledge of UPS systems, backup generators, automatic transfer switches, solar power systems, transformers, lighting, and building construction specifications.
  • Strong project management, communication, analytical, troubleshooting, and independent decision-making skills.
  • Applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible to obtain an export license under applicable U.S. export regulations, including ITAR and EAR.

Nice to have

  • 5+ years of experience with electrical and power distribution systems below 600 Vac and plumbing design and operation.
  • Familiarity with cryogenic liquids, high-pressure industrial gases, deionized water treatment, and environmentally responsible facility design.
  • Beginner to intermediate experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bentley, or equivalent software.
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code, ASHRAE, NFPA, and International Building Code.
  • Proximity to the building and ability to work extended hours as needed.
