Java Developer (Fintech)

What you will do

• Design, implement, and support core Java components of the Firm Market Risk Platform.
• Build scalable, high-performance computing solutions for market risk calculations and analytics.
• Develop software that measures and monitors market risk exposure and capital across large-scale portfolios.
• Use AI tools to support agentic and analytical workflows while maintaining solution quality and correctness.
• Collaborate with Risk Managers, Market Risk Analytics teams, senior management, regulatory stakeholders, and global counterparts.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers in an Agile environment.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building large-scale, production-grade systems with strong Java backend expertise.
• Experience designing and building distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, software design patterns, Linux/Unix, scripting, and relational or document-oriented databases.
• Ability to translate business and analytical requirements into efficient technical solutions and align technology with regulatory requirements.
• Ability to guide junior staff, influence technical direction, and manage multiple initiatives.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with agentic AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Code.
• Production experience with Python and Unix, cloud platforms, Infrastructure as Code, containers, and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience with Apache Spark, Snowflake, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices.
• Financial services experience, particularly in Market Risk or FinTech.
