Sr. Java Developer (Fintech)

Location: Toronto, ON; hybrid arrangement with 1–3 days per week on-site at Toronto-81 Bay

What you will do

• Design and develop APIs and enterprise-scale backend solutions for hirify.global Online Banking, hirify.global.com, Simplii Financial, and mobile banking.
• Implement microservices, system integrations, and complex business logic using modern development patterns.
• Create high-quality test cases and technical documentation.
• Provide advanced operational support, troubleshoot issues, and perform performance tuning.
• Contribute to digital transformation initiatives involving cloud and AI technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional squads, Chapter Leads, and Product Owners.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of hands-on Java development experience in an enterprise environment.
• Strong experience with Java/J2EE, Spring/Spring Boot, SOAP, JSON, RESTful web services, microservices, and API development.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure, OpenShift Container Platform, or equivalent.
• Experience with Kubernetes, system integration, modern development practices, and performance troubleshooting.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and hold a valid work or study permit where applicable.
• Willingness to complete skills assessments, which may include coding or French proficiency tests.
