Project Director, Cost Management (Pharma/Life Sciences)

Location: Hybrid, with up to 3 days onsite per week at the project location in Vacaville, California, and 2 days remote; roles are listed for San Francisco and Sacramento, California.

Salary: $168,000–$200,000+ USD per year, depending on experience, skills, and education.

What you will do

• Lead the pharma and life sciences key account function and build trusted client relationships.
• Develop new business and repeat-project opportunities with existing clients.
• Oversee strategic client projects and deliver contractual cost management outcomes.
• Negotiate contract terms and commercial agreements with clients and contractors.
• Mentor employees, support their growth, and lead teams toward high-quality client delivery.

Requirements

• 15+ years of construction experience, including cost management.
• Pre- and post-contract cost management experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences sector.
• Strong operational management experience in a dynamic environment.
• Degree or comparable experience in cost management or quantity surveying.
• Chartered status; RICS membership is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and confidence leading client meetings.
