Product Manager (Defense / C5ISR)

Location: Onsite in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Salary: $119,500–$165,000 per year plus bonus opportunity

What you will do

• Manage embedded product lines from market research and product definition through development, launch, growth, enhancement, and sunset.
• Define product strategies, business cases, ROI models, pricing, profit strategies, and data-driven forecasts for bookings, revenue, and design wins.
• Work with engineering, CTO, marketing, sales, customers, and partners to define feature sets, technical specifications, cost targets, and differentiated value propositions.
• Oversee product development lifecycles, including time to market, development costs, design-to-cost targets, ROI, and sustaining activities.
• Monitor product-line health through sales forecasts, design-win reviews, margin analysis, pricing adjustments, market enhancements, and component-obsolescence decisions.
• Support customer and sales engagements with systems analysis, technical proposals, product presentations, white papers, promotional content, and subject-matter expertise.

Requirements

• Relevant hardware or software engineering degree, or equivalent experience, and a relevant business degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in product management, engineering management, or deeply technical product marketing.
• Experience understanding target-market needs and creating innovative, differentiated products that solve customer challenges.
• Knowledge of product, market, and marketing strategy development, as well as business opportunity development and customer, sales, and partner relationship management.
• Working knowledge of system architecture, hardware, software, and support requirements in defense and aerospace markets.
• Knowledge of embedded computing architectures and technologies, including Intel and Arm processors, FPGA and GPU processing, Ethernet switching and routing, VME/VPX/XMC, VITA standards, SOSA, CMOSS, HOST, embedded Linux, and real-time operating systems.
