AWS Agentic AI Platform Engineer

Location: Remote within the United States, with locations in San Antonio, Texas, and Austin, Texas. Occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility may be required.

Salary: $99,000–$225,000 annualized USD

What you will do

• Develop, train, test, deploy, and maintain machine learning models and agentic AI applications.
• Build retrieval architectures that access governed knowledge and integrate approved tools and services.
• Develop secure AWS-based capabilities that process structured and unstructured data.
• Automate complex mission workflows and produce traceable decision-support outputs.
• Evaluate models and AI systems for quality, retrieval relevance, task success, latency, cost, and performance.
• Collaborate with data, software, cloud, DevSecOps, architecture, product, and mission teams.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, data science, software engineering, data engineering, or cloud engineering.
• Experience developing AI/ML applications with Python and integrating AI/ML capabilities with APIs, data stores, cloud services, or enterprise applications.
• Experience developing, deploying, or supporting applications on AWS.
• Knowledge of software engineering and DevSecOps practices, including version control, automated testing, CI/CD, containerization, and infrastructure as code.
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance and a bachelor’s degree.
• Applicants must be eligible to work on classified national security missions and may be required to work occasionally at a Booz Allen or customer facility.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS Strands Agents, LangGraph, LangChain, LlamaIndex, Amazon Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker AI, or Amazon OpenSearch Service.
• Experience with retrieval-augmented generation, embeddings, vector search, reranking, knowledge graphs, Model Context Protocol, agent-to-agent communication, or structured tool calling.
• Experience with FastAPI, Pydantic, OpenAPI, Temporal, AWS Step Functions, EventBridge, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
• Experience with MLOps or LLMOps, including evaluation, versioning, observability, tracing, drift monitoring, or rollback controls.
• Experience in AWS GovCloud, FedRAMP High, DoD Impact Level 4 or 5, computer vision, multimodal AI, geospatial analytics, or graph-based analysis.
