Senior AI Engineer (AI Platform)

Location: Hybrid, 3 days per week at CNBC Headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, United States

Salary: USD 140,000–175,000 yearly

What you will do

• Build and operate distributed agentic AI solutions for equity research.
• Develop retrieval, reranking, RAG, model integration, and evaluation systems.
• Own complex AI platform features from system design through deployment and operation.
• Integrate AI capabilities into products and data pipelines in collaboration with engineering, product, analysts, and investors.
• Maintain observability, quality and cost monitoring, drift detection, alerting, and incident response.
• Identify and mitigate performance regressions, bias, reliability, and other operational risks.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of software engineering experience building and shipping production systems.
• Strong programming skills in Python and backend expertise in a strongly typed language, preferably TypeScript.
• Experience designing and deploying LLM or GenAI systems, agentic workflows, prompting, tool use, RAG, and evaluation methodologies.
• Experience with AWS, distributed systems, scalable data pipelines, embeddings, vector databases, and large or unstructured datasets.
• Experience with observability, reliability, performance optimization, incident response, model adaptation, and human-in-the-loop evaluation.
• Interest in financial markets, investing, or fundamental business analysis, with strong communication and independent problem-solving skills.
