Senior Affordable Housing Underwriter (Commercial Real Estate)

Location: Fully onsite at 2010 Main Street, Suite 1220, Irvine, CA 92614, United States. Occasional travel may be required.

Salary: $98,000–$175,000 per year, with potential performance-based incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Underwrite complex commercial real estate loans, including construction, bridge, and permanent financing.
• Prepare concise credit recommendations with quantitative analysis, risk ratings, policy exceptions, and loan coding.
• Analyze appraisals, market conditions, sponsor contingent debt, refinance risk, and global cash flow.
• Monitor borrower financial performance, spread financial statements, test covenants, and track approval conditions.
• Collaborate with Relationship Managers and Analysts to identify and mitigate credit risk and support relationship expansion.
• Review or oversee the work of commercial underwriters and credit analysts, and coach or mentor colleagues when required.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of commercial underwriting, credit analysis, or relevant lending experience.
• Advanced credit, accounting, financial statement spreading, and cash flow analysis skills.
• Advanced knowledge of credit policies, procedures, and practices.
• Advanced analytical, problem-solving, time management, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage internal and external customer relationships and multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with personal computers and software such as Word and Excel.
