Android Engineer III

Location: New York, New York; hybrid workplace

Salary: $150,000–$180,000 per year, with geographic adjustment based on the approved work location.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain the Hinge Android mobile application.
• Implement product features that improve user engagement and experience.
• Triage, debug, and resolve software issues to maintain application stability and performance.
• Contribute to codebase health, best practices, code reviews, and long-term technical evolution.
• Collaborate with product managers, project managers, designers, data engineers, backend engineers, QA specialists, and technical leads.
• Participate in stand-ups, planning sessions, retrospectives, and other agile team ceremonies.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of professional Android development experience.
• Proficiency in Kotlin and a solid understanding of Android SDKs and frameworks.
• Experience publishing at least one application on the Google Play Store.
• Strong software development fundamentals and the ability to create efficient, maintainable code.
• Clear communication skills for collaboration with technical and non-technical teams.
• Commitment to ownership, quality, attention to detail, and user-centered application development.

Nice to have

• Experience with Java in Android development.
