Sr Portfolio Manager/Underwriter (Commercial Credit)

Location: Fully onsite in Riverside, California

Salary: $81,000–$140,000 per year, with potential performance-based incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Underwrite new and renewal middle-market credit requests, including working capital lines, asset-based lines, commercial real estate loans, and equipment financing.
• Analyze business, industry, financial, and credit information to identify repayment risks and support credit recommendations.
• Prepare quantitative underwriting narratives, apply dual risk rating models, identify policy and compliance exceptions, and code loans accurately.
• Monitor borrower financial performance, spread financial statements, calculate covenants, and address violations with Client Solutions Managers.
• Partner with Client Solutions Managers and Relationship Managers on customer needs, loan structures, relationship expansion, and customer or prospect calls.
• Review other underwriters' credit reports, provide quality-control feedback, and coach or train underwriters and credit analysts.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of commercial underwriting, credit analysis, or relevant lending experience.
• Advanced analytical, problem-solving, credit, and credit-quality skills.
• Experience with accounting, financial statement spreading, and cash flow analysis.
• Advanced knowledge of credit policies, procedures, practices, and documentation.
• Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, presentation, and time-management skills.
• Ability to collaborate across the company and train or present to small and large audiences.
