Principal Engineer, IC Systems Architect

Salary: $140,000–$165,000 per year

What you will do

• Assess system-level requirements for high-speed communications applications.
• Map system requirements onto integrated circuit functional blocks.
• Collaborate with analog, digital, and firmware engineers on IC architecture and design tradeoffs.
• Evaluate circuit-level feasibility and support fabrication process selection.
• Model ICs and external components to project target performance.
• Develop algorithms for on-chip calibration and signal conditioning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• 10 years of direct industry experience in IC development for high-speed communications systems.
• Experience with high-speed analog and mixed-signal circuit design.
• Strong understanding of linear and nonlinear channel simulation techniques.
• Deep knowledge of signal equalization and clock-and-data recovery for wideband, multi-gigabit systems.
