TL;DR
Senior Program Manager (Defense Valves): Leading a cross-functional defense valves product line with an accent on P&L ownership, program budgets, customer satisfaction, and business growth. Focus on managing complex manufacturing programs, reporting financial performance, coordinating suppliers and customers, and developing contingency plans for operational risks.

Location: East Farmingdale, New York, United States. The role requires US citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.

Salary: $144,100–$175,000 annually.

Develops highly engineered severe-service valves and related products for the U.S. Navy nuclear fleet and the global nuclear power generation industry.

What you will do

  • Lead a cross-functional Defense Valves product line, coordinating program management, engineering, quality, planning, purchasing, and production control.
  • Own approximately 20% of the business unit’s annual P&L and manage sales bookings, budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting.
  • Create and maintain sales plans, delivery reports, project schedules, budgets, and performance documentation.
  • Support RFQs and ITBs, bid/no-bid decisions, contract reviews, negotiations, and new business generation.
  • Manage customer interfaces, audits, inspections, progress reporting, warranty projects, and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and sourcing teams, identify program risks, and implement contingency or recovery plans.

Requirements

  • US citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
  • At least five years of program management experience and familiarity with technical or engineering specifications and procedures.
  • Experience developing and managing detailed program budgets, reporting financial results to senior management, and applying strong financial analysis.
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management Systems, risk management, manufacturing processes, and complex product lines.
  • Prior engineering or operations experience combined with current program management experience.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, customer relationship, written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Nice to have

  • PMP certification.
  • MS Project, Oracle ERP, or prior mainframe application experience.
  • MBA.
  • Experience overseeing Navy programs.
