Lead Shipping Clerk

Location: Middleburg Heights, Ohio, United States. Applicants must be U.S. persons under applicable U.S. export-control regulations.

Salary: $28–$30 per hour. Sign-on bonus available.

Manufacturing company operating in an environment subject to U.S. export-control and security-screening requirements.

What you will do

• Lead daily shipping and logistics activities and coordinate workload across the logistics team.
• Prepare, inspect, package, seal, and process parcel, LTL, freight, and international shipments.
• Coordinate carriers, drivers, internal departments, pickup schedules, and on-time delivery.
• Prepare shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing slips, and export documents.
• Track shipments, resolve delays, maintain ERP transactions, and monitor packaging-material inventory.
• Train and mentor logistics technicians while enforcing SOPs, safety practices, and continuous-improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree in logistics, warehousing, or supply chain is preferred.
• At least 7 years of hands-on shipping, logistics, or warehouse experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Experience with packaging, carrier pickups, domestic and international shipping, and related documentation.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and shipping platforms such as UPS, FedEx, and freight-carrier portals.
• Knowledge of shipping documentation and export requirements, including NAFTA, MSDS, HTS, and EAR.
• Must be a U.S. person and may be subject to additional export-control security screening.

Nice to have

• Associate degree or additional logistics, warehousing, or supply-chain certification.
• Forklift operation certification.
• Experience mentoring or supporting team members in daily operations.
