Native Module Developer (C/JavaScript)

What you will do

• Design, implement, test, and ship native Bare modules such as bare-bluetooth, bare-tcp, bare-fs, and bare-crypto.
• Write C native addons that bridge Bluetooth, networking, filesystem, and cryptographic platform APIs into JavaScript.
• Maintain cross-platform builds and CI pipelines for macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS.
• Contribute to the Bare runtime core, including the module system, native addon system, and lightweight threads.
• Debug native modules across operating systems and mobile devices and maintain comprehensive tests.
• Coordinate with internal product teams, respond to technical inquiries, document decisions, and contribute to workshops and onboarding materials.

Requirements

• Strong C programming skills and experience writing and debugging native code across platforms.
• Advanced JavaScript skills with a solid understanding of Node internals and its module ecosystem.
• Experience building native addons for Node or similar runtimes using N-API, node-gyp, or an equivalent technology.
• Familiarity with libuv or another asynchronous I/O framework.
• Experience with cross-compilation, platform-specific system APIs, and macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS toolchains.
• Ability to navigate large C and C++ codebases and work independently with strong written communication skills.
