Embedded Firmware Engineer (AI Wearables)

Location: San Francisco, CA, United States; hybrid work with a minimum of 3 days in the office per week

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 base salary per year, plus performance bonus and equity

What you will do

• Develop embedded firmware for AI wearable prototypes, connecting MCUs, sensors, wireless modules, and other hardware components.
• Bring up new hardware platforms, debug firmware, and validate system functionality.
• Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to build integrated prototype devices.
• Implement and optimize firmware for low-power operation, device control, and core system functions.
• Support rapid prototype iterations and prepare firmware architecture for handoff to the Shenzhen engineering team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of embedded firmware development experience.
• Strong C/C++ programming skills for embedded systems, including MCU platforms and RTOS environments.
• Experience with Keil, IAR Embedded Workbench, VS Code, or Eclipse, plus JTAG/SWD debuggers and logic analyzers.
• Experience with schematic and PCB tools such as Altium Designer, Cadence, or KiCad for hardware bring-up and debugging.
• Experience with low-power systems, sensors, and Bluetooth/BLE or Wi-Fi protocols in wearable or IoT devices.
