Field Application Engineer - West Coast (Embedded Systems)

Location: Remote in the United States, with up to 50% travel within the Bay Area and other West Coast regions. Candidates based in the Bay Area are strongly preferred. Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer.

What you will do

• Support global customers, with a focus on the assigned West Coast region, throughout the design-in process and through full production.
• Work with sales on pre-sales activities and customer design-in engagements.
• Advise customers on system-level power optimization and low-power design.
• Review customer schematics, PCB layouts, and hardware and software requirements.
• Assist with hirify.global MCU software development tools and debug customer hardware, software, and complete systems.
• Share customer feedback with marketing and engineering, and train or enable the sales team on emerging technologies.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Field Applications Engineering or an equivalent semiconductor industry role.
• Experience visiting, presenting to, and supporting customers on complex technical topics.
• Required experience with embedded 32-bit MCU software and hardware, including C programming, embedded software or firmware development, and digital and analog circuit fundamentals.
• Experience debugging common embedded MCU hardware and software issues, with strong laboratory, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field required; candidates without a degree need 10+ years of directly related professional experience.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience with Cortex-M ARM-based microcontrollers and Zephyr RTOS, especially configuring and debugging BLE-enabled embedded MCU applications.
• Experience with low-power radios and wireless standards including BLE, Bluetooth Classic, and 802.15.4.
• Experience designing wearable or hearable products.
