IT Systems Engineer II (Test)

Location: Redondo Beach, United States; onsite in test facilities

Salary: $160,000–$185,000 per year

What you will do

• Design and deploy rack layouts, MDF/IDF architecture, fiber distribution, and facility infrastructure for hardware testing.
• Lead infrastructure projects for test stand deployments, relocations, and facility expansions.
• Plan and operate scalable, redundant, high-capacity networks with IEEE-1588 PTP and NTP synchronization.
• Troubleshoot latency, packet loss, and timing issues affecting telemetry and control systems.
• Engineer servers, virtualization, storage, backup, recovery, and hybrid cloud/on-premises platforms.
• Develop infrastructure-as-code and automation solutions, support CI/CD integration, and maintain security segmentation and compliance.

Requirements

• Strong expertise in switching, routing, VLANs, and network troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience deploying and troubleshooting PTP/NTP time-synchronized systems.
• Experience designing physical infrastructure and facility network deployments.
• Administration experience with Linux and Windows systems.
• Cisco or equivalent enterprise networking experience.
• 7+ years of experience supporting infrastructure or test engineering environments; applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible to obtain a U.S. export license under ITAR/EAR requirements.

Nice to have

• Aerospace, manufacturing, propulsion test, deterministic networking, virtualization, hybrid cloud, infrastructure automation, or regulated-environment experience.
