Cloud System Administrator (Cloud/DevOps)

Location: Hybrid position in Sterling, Virginia, United States; periodic onsite work is required.

Salary: $55,000–$106,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience.

What you will do

• Administer and maintain Windows and Linux servers, applications, user accounts, permissions, and security configurations.
• Build, configure, upgrade, migrate, patch, harden, and monitor server environments.
• Develop task sequences, software packages, application deployments, and automation scripts.
• Administer Kubernetes pods and manage deployments through ArgoCD and Kubernetes consoles.
• Clone, commit, and push code to GitHub, then deploy it through Jenkins pipelines across test, development, UAT, and production namespaces.
• Build environments with Terraform or Ansible, troubleshoot issues, document procedures, and support malware analysis applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DHS Public Trust security clearance.
• Basic understanding of AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud computing concepts.
• Fundamental knowledge of Windows, Linux, TCP/IP, DNS, and firewalls.
• Strong foundation in at least one programming language, such as Java, Python, C++, or JavaScript.
• Less than two years of relevant experience, strong analytical skills, and effective written and verbal communication.

Nice to have

• Azure Fundamentals, AWS Certified Developer, Oracle Java, CompTIA ITF+, Scrum Master, or GitHub/GitLab certifications.
• Experience with Git/GitHub, Python, PowerShell, Bash, Docker, Kubernetes, configuration management tools, or software development methodologies.
• Prior internship or work experience in IT support or system administration.
