TL;DR
Technical Program Director - Product Formulation (Aerospace): Managing the definition, planning, and delivery of a portfolio of aerospace products and technology development programs with an accent on cost, schedule, risk, procurement, and cross-functional execution. Focus on integrating development, qualification, and production hardware plans, controlling program financial performance, and presenting recovery plans for complex spacecraft and launch vehicle programs.

Location: Greater Seattle Area, United States. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or nationals, current U.S. permanent residents, or lawfully admitted refugees or asylees.

Base pay for Washington applicants: $169,624.00–$237,473.25 per year. Other site ranges may differ.

What you will do

  • Define, manage, and deliver a portfolio of new aerospace products and technology development programs.
  • Own program deliverables, performance to plan, customer statements of work, cost, schedule, risks, opportunities, and change management.
  • Build and maintain program management plans, work breakdown structures, budgets, schedules, and integrated development plans.
  • Coordinate engineering, finance, procurement, cost engineering, supply chain, legal, and enterprise technology organizations.
  • Ensure development, qualification, and production hardware is delivered and integrated with vehicle programs where appropriate.
  • Lead operating reviews, corporate reporting, planning cycles, action tracking, and executive communication.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, physics, mathematics, operations management, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of program or project management and business management experience in a development environment.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary development projects and managing requirements, priorities, scope, schedule, and cost.
  • Experience with aerospace vehicle development, production, operations, and major subcontracts.
  • Experience using project management tools such as MS Project, P6 Primavera, or similar.
  • U.S. citizenship, nationality, permanent residency, refugee status, or asylum status is required under export control regulations.

Nice to have

  • MBA or master’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, or systems engineering.
  • PMP certification and experience with EVMS, critical path scheduling, IMP/IMS, risk management, requirements management, and cost account management.
  • Experience with verification, integration, and testing of orbital launch vehicles or human-rated spacecraft.
