TL;DR
Technical Program Manager (Aerospace): Turning engineering roadmaps into delivered satellite missions and government programs with an accent on schedules, dependencies, resource planning, and integrated hardware/software delivery. Focus on resolving cross-functional resource conflicts, surfacing program risks, and supporting executive prioritization and bid decisions.

Location: On-site in the San Francisco Bay Area, California, United States. U.S. ITAR eligibility is required: candidates must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, protected individuals, or eligible to obtain the required authorizations.

Salary: $150,000–$250,000 per year, with flexible salary and equity compensation mixes.

What you will do

  • Define program scope, structure, milestones, schedules, dependencies, and execution plans.
  • Coordinate engineering teams and keep mission-critical hardware and software deliverables on track.
  • Identify resource needs, negotiate staffing, and resolve conflicts across concurrent programs.
  • Surface risks early and develop practical mitigation plans.
  • Support new-effort planning through staffing, cost estimates, schedule assumptions, and resource utilization analysis.
  • Partner with engineering and executive leadership on prioritization and bid/no-bid decisions.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience supporting complex, high-stakes technical programs delivering integrated hardware/software systems.
  • Ability to learn highly technical concepts rapidly and independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong accountability and ability to meet mission-critical deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for connecting deep technical engineering details with executive strategy.
  • U.S. ITAR eligibility is required.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience designing, developing, integrating, or testing electronic or mechanical hardware systems.
  • Experience with Python, SQL, or data visualization tools for program metrics and performance tracking.
  • Experience in high-growth, ambiguous, or clean-sheet hardware environments.
  • Familiarity with aerospace or safety-critical hardware development.
