Electrical Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Portland, Oregon, United States; onsite

Salary: $83,800–$95,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and analyze electrical components, equipment, and systems.
• Support new product introduction through electronic circuitry design, circuit design, PCB layout, procurement, and manufacturing coordination.
• Analyze and debug interface circuits for customer applications and resolve product issues with minimal production disruption.
• Evaluate equipment performance, conduct experimental tests, and select components based on specifications, reliability, and performance requirements.
• Support EMC reviews, testing hardware and software development, and troubleshooting of manufacturing and development issues.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and cross-functional teams on NPI, PCB, EMC, quality, and production requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of related engineering experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, ideally automotive or commercial vehicle manufacturing.
• Experience designing, developing, and testing electrical components, equipment, and systems.
• Experience with CAD circuit design, circuit simulation, and electrical test equipment such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, Helmholtz coils, and frequency generators.
• Knowledge of EMC design principles; experience with root cause analysis and troubleshooting.
• Strong planning, communication, organization, independent work, and teamwork skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Altium.
• Experience with Design and Process FMEAs.
• Background in the automotive or commercial vehicle industry.
