Temporary Assembly Technician

Location: Portland, Oregon, United States; physical attendance at the assigned job site, typically the PacStar OPS Center, is required

What you will do

• Assemble and test electronic products that combine hardware and software systems.
• Perform mechanical assembly of sheet metal enclosures, install hardware, follow prints, and operate light machinery.
• Build cables and connectors, strip and tin wires, perform simple soldering, and wire connectors.
• Pre-test equipment and cycle products through electronic and environmental testing equipment.
• Inspect components, subassemblies, and finished products against specified quality criteria.
• Follow daily assignments and Operations Methods Sheets, communicate process information, and adjust to changing priorities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least three years of experience using basic assembly equipment and tools, including strippers, crimpers, cutters, soldering irons, screwdrivers, and drills.
• Ability to read and understand drawings and wiring schematics and follow documented procedures.
• Electromechanical assembly experience, including cable, connector, and simple electronics assembly.
• Previous experience using a Windows computer, strong communication skills, accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with engineers and in a team.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, sit or stand for extended periods, work overtime when required, multitask, self-organize workloads, and meet deadlines.
