AEGIS Systems Engineer (Defense Technology)

Location: 100% onsite in Mount Laurel, New Jersey, United States; travel up to 10% may be required.

Salary: $90,000–$184,000 per year; listed pay ranges include $90,000–$150,000 and $114,000–$184,000 depending on experience, skills, and education.

What you will do

• Design and develop complex real-time sea-based weapon systems and system-of-systems architectures.
• Refactor combat-system designs to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Develop software that meets rigorous certification and validation standards.
• Test and rearchitect systems as programs evolve, including complex system stress tests.
• Use Cameo/MagicDraw or IBM Rhapsody to model and evaluate weapon-system behavior.
• Calculate and analyze probabilistic combat-system performance measures for live-fire-related scenarios.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, systems engineering, industrial engineering, physics, mathematics, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 3 years of full-time professional experience in systems engineering or related technical roles.
• Familiarity with systems engineering and modeling concepts, including Cameo/MagicDraw or IBM Rhapsody.
• Proficiency in at least two of C++, Java, Python, or MATLAB.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
• Willingness to learn complex defense architectures and probabilistic performance measures.

Nice to have

• Experience with the Aegis Combat System or U.S. Missile Defense System.
• Advanced STEM degree, radar or digital signal processing knowledge, and experience with SysML or IBM DOORS.
• Knowledge of probabilistic measures such as PD, PES, and PK.
• Experience applying AI/ML, using AI agents for recompiling tasks, or developing software in AWS-centric environments.
