Senior Engineer, Software Systems (R4903)

Location: On-site in the United States — San Diego, California; Washington, DC; Boston, Massachusetts; San Mateo, California; or Dallas, Texas.

Salary: $110,000–$170,000 per year, plus bonus, benefits, and equity for regular full-time employees.

What you will do

• Define, analyze, and manage system requirements with traceability to mission objectives.
• Develop system architectures and perform trade studies balancing performance, cost, and risk.
• Coordinate interfaces across hardware, software, and external systems.
• Support system integration, verification, and validation, including test planning and execution.
• Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies throughout the system lifecycle.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of systems engineering or related experience with a bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of advanced education and experience.
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline such as software, aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering.
• Experience with systems engineering practices, requirements writing and verification, MBSE, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Software engineering experience with C++ and/or Python.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings, parts lists, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• US citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Advanced MBSE expertise, including the Cameo API and Velocity Template Language.
• Expertise in requirements and design decomposition.
• Experience with autonomy, aircraft, or unmanned vehicles.
