TL;DR
Senior Engineering Support Specialist (Systems Engineering): Developing and analyzing mission-critical systems for the D5LE2 strategic weapons program using systems engineering, MBSE, and digital engineering with an accent on requirements management, system modeling, and lifecycle integration. Focus on resolving complex design issues, defining system architectures, conducting trade studies, and supporting verification, validation, security accreditation, and major program milestones.

Location: Pittsfield, MA, United States. The position may be fully onsite, hybrid/flex, or remote with a minimum visit to Pittsfield every three weeks. U.S. citizenship is required, and applicants must be eligible to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance.

Salary: USD $106,477–$115,212 per year.

What you will do

  • Apply systems engineering principles across the full D5LE2 system development life cycle.
  • Perform requirements analysis and management, functional and performance analysis, system design, trade studies, integration, verification, validation, and interface definition.
  • Develop and maintain system architectures, models, and designs using MBSE and digital engineering tools.
  • Analyze design weaknesses, risks, costs, supportability, effectiveness, and vendor or COTS component feasibility.
  • Support modeling and simulation, technical planning, security documentation, system accreditation, and major program milestones.
  • Provide technical leadership, communicate recommendations to stakeholders, and identify opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Technology degree in Engineering or a related field with 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience.
  • U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a Department of Defense Secret security clearance are required.
  • Proficiency in systems engineering principles, the full system development life cycle, and complex safety-critical programs.
  • Experience with systems modeling and requirements management tools such as Cameo/MagicDraw and DOORS, or equivalent tools.
  • Experience applying MBSE methodologies and digital engineering concepts to real program deliverables.
  • Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, independent decision-making, and stakeholder presentation skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting a major defense or strategic weapons program.
  • Experience with recognized architectural patterns, modeling and simulation, system accreditation, or security documentation.
  • Experience providing leadership or direction to lower-level employees.
