Location: Huntington Beach, California, United States; on-site. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. The position may involve access to software and technology controlled under U.S. export control laws, including EAR and ITAR, without sponsorship for an export license.
Salary: $125,000β$160,000 annually for Integration Engineer, Firmware; equity included. A Senior Integration Engineer, Firmware range of $165,000β$220,000 is also listed.

What you will do
- Integrate software and firmware across UAV flight control, autonomy, communications, and deployment systems.
- Define system and subsystem requirements, interfaces, data flows, and implementation plans across mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines.
- Set feature timelines and drive software and firmware implementation, validation, and release against program milestones.
- Debug source code, reconfigure firmware, and test prototype firmware implementations on UAVs.
- Coordinate software updates and release cycles with manufacturing and validation engineering teams.
- Document configurations and integration procedures, and communicate technical status, risks, and dependencies to engineering leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in software integration or systems engineering.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, APIs, and system interoperability.
- Understanding of C/C++ and Python, plus experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and issue-tracking tools such as Jira.
- Experience planning and delivering technical milestones across multiple teams, with strong communication and cross-functional leadership skills.
- U.S. work authorization is required; export-controlled work may require authorization without export-license sponsorship.
Nice to have
- Experience integrating software for autonomous systems, UAVs, or robotics platforms.
- FMEA experience.
- Familiarity with ROS, MAVLink, or similar robotics and middleware frameworks.
- Knowledge of embedded software development and real-time operating systems.
- Background in GNC, mission systems, sensor integration, or technical program coordination in aerospace or defense.
