Head of IT (AI)

Location: San Francisco, United States; work arrangement: on-site. Relocation support to San Francisco may be available.

Annual salary: $200,000–$350,000, plus significant equity.

What you will do

• Own IT systems, endpoints, identity, SaaS, office infrastructure, support, and IT security end to end.
• Lead a small IT team and define technical direction, priorities, and standards.
• Build automation and self-service capabilities to reduce manual work and improve reliability.
• Own SSO, SCIM, MFA, MDM, Google Workspace, Slack, and related core infrastructure.
• Partner with Security on least privilege, endpoint protection, patching, vulnerability management, and incident response.
• Manage office networking, audiovisual systems, conference rooms, and physical security while building scalable IT controls.

Requirements

• Experience owning and scaling IT functions in a fast-paced technical environment.
• Hands-on leadership experience with the ability to develop a small team and contribute technically.
• Deep experience with macOS, MDM, Google Workspace, SaaS, identity, and access management.
• Expertise with automation, APIs, AI tools, Bash, and Python.
• Strong security experience across endpoints, identity, access, vulnerability management, and incident response.
• Strong judgment, first-principles thinking, adaptability, and willingness to work beyond traditional IT boundaries.
