Head of IT (AI)

Location: San Francisco, United States; on-site. Visa sponsorship and a relocation stipend may be available to bring the successful candidate to San Francisco.

Annual salary: $200,000–$300,000, plus significant equity.

What you will do

• Own IT systems, endpoints, identity, SaaS, office infrastructure, support, and IT security end to end.
• Lead a small IT team and define technical direction, priorities, and operating standards.
• Build automation and self-service capabilities that reduce manual work and improve reliability.
• Manage SSO, SCIM, MFA, MDM, Google Workspace, Slack, and core SaaS applications.
• Partner with Security on least privilege, endpoint protection, patching, vulnerability management, and incident response.
• Own office technology, including networking, AV, conference rooms, and physical security, while building scalable IT controls.

Requirements

• Experience owning and scaling IT functions in a fast-paced technical environment.
• Hands-on leadership experience, including setting direction, developing a small team, and contributing technically.
• Deep experience with macOS, MDM, Google Workspace, SaaS, identity, and access management.
• Expertise with automation, APIs, AI tools, and Bash or Python for eliminating manual work.
• Strong security experience across endpoints, identity, access, vulnerability management, and incident response.
• Strong judgment, first-principles thinking, willingness to learn new domains, and ability to work beyond traditional IT boundaries.
