Trade Systems Engineer

Location: Chicago, United States. Monday–Friday schedule with weekend and holiday coverage as required. Orientation shifts vary between 09:00–18:30 and 15:00–23:00; the permanent shift is 08:00–17:00.

Annual base salary: $85,000–$125,000, plus an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Monitor trading systems, identify potential issues, and resolve problems to maintain availability.
• Respond to requests from traders and engineers with urgency and operational awareness.
• Support the onboarding of new trading desks and systems within the broader technology ecosystem.
• Develop a deep understanding of the trading environment to anticipate challenges and suggest improvements.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in trade support, systems administration, site reliability engineering, or a related technical role; internships and projects count.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM field.
• Basic networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP, with familiarity with troubleshooting tools.
• Linux/Unix command-line experience and familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical problems under time pressure and communicate clearly.
