Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Turbomachinery)

What you will do

• Produce components and assemblies for the fuel and oxidizer turbopumps used in Aeon-R and Aeon-R Vac engines.
• Own manufacturing trade studies and develop processes for fabricating, testing, and delivering propulsion hardware.
• Develop and refine assembly, fluids testing, machining, and additive manufacturing processes.
• Serve as the main point of contact between manufacturing and design teams during Aeon-R architecture optimization.
• Support the scale-up of manufacturing operations for flight engines and collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Requirements

• Degree in engineering or a related technical field and 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with turbopump assembly procedures, including rotor balancing, interference fits, clearance checks, structural proofing, and leak checks.
• Knowledge of general assembly and test procedures, tolerance stack-up analysis, structural proof testing, and pressurized leak checks.
• Experience with Siemens NX or other CAD and analysis tools.
• Experience designing tooling, including conceptualization, modeling, drafting, and detailed analysis.
• Ability to drive projects to completion and work through complex issues involving rocket turbopumps and manufactured hardware.

Nice to have

• Experience with additively manufactured engine hardware.
• Experience with GD&T under ASME Y14.5 and industry specifications.
• Experience in a startup or agile development environment.
• Experience working on a flight development program.
