Senior Manufacturing Engineer II - Machining (Aerospace)

Base pay: $120,000–$170,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Contribute manufacturing, machining, productivity, and quality expertise to design reviews.
• Select, procure, install, maintain, and calibrate machine shop equipment.
• Develop in-house machining capabilities for Archimedes engine components and implement rapid iterations.
• Design and implement tooling and production equipment to improve quality, delivery, and cost performance.
• Lead continuous improvement and cost-reduction projects within the fabrication department.
• Collaborate with other hirify.global machine shops and mentor less experienced engineers and machinists.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, manufacturing engineering, or an equivalent qualification; 12+ years of experience may substitute for the degree.
• 8+ years of machine shop experience.
• Experience with CAM software and 3- and 5-axis CNC equipment.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and inspection methods.
• For candidates working in U.S. offices, eligibility under U.S. ITAR export regulations is required, including U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylum status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.
• The role may involve extended sitting, standing, walking, computer work, and occasional exposure to noise, dust, and fumes in production areas.

Nice to have

• Capacity modeling, process mapping, Lean/Six Sigma, and value stream mapping experience.
• 10+ years of machine shop experience and experience with 3D CAD and tooling design.
• Experience machining turbomachinery and combustion device components.
• Knowledge of post-processing, additive manufacturing, welding, NX CAM, and 5-axis CNC machining.
