Turbomachinery Engineer II (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Hawthorne, California, United States. The role requires outdoor work in extreme weather conditions and occasional evenings or weekends for critical mission milestones.

Salary: $110,000–$155,000 USD per year.

What you will do

• Advance the E-2 engine and turbomachinery design with the engineering team and Chief Engineer.
• Create CAD models, drawings, schematics, and process documentation for parts and assemblies.
• Support manufacturing through 3D printing, machining, post-processing, inspection, and design-for-manufacturing improvements.
• Support propulsion component assembly, integration, and testing.
• Participate in engine tests, troubleshoot issues, and communicate progress and risks across the team.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, development, fabrication, assembly, or testing, including internships.
• Experience with hands-on engineering activities from computer-based design through hardware fabrication and assembly.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, communicate clearly, solve problems, and build professional relationships.
• Must meet U.S. export control requirements as a U.S. person or be eligible for deemed export licensing.
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds unassisted and work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.

Nice to have

• NX CAD experience.
• Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing experience.
• ANSYS or MATLAB experience.
