Corporate Counsel

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; office-first model requiring on-site work at least four days a week

Salary: $150,000–$170,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Support the Senior Counsel with legal guidance across business regions and practice groups.
• Advise Revenue and Operations stakeholders on contracts, compliance matters, risk assessments, and legal strategies.
• Draft, review, and support negotiations for SaaS, client, procurement, IT, government, commercial leasing, and consulting agreements.
• Develop expertise in the company’s AI technology business and urban mobility industry.
• Adopt and champion AI tools to improve legal-team workflows and reduce redundant work.
• Coordinate business disputes and assist with outside counsel management.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree and an active license or eligibility to practice law in Illinois or Tennessee.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in a corporate legal department or business/transactional law-firm practice.
• Experience with management, operating, technology, procurement, and other commercial contracts.
• Strong transactional and legal writing skills with practical decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and communicate complex legal issues clearly.
• Ability to adopt and champion AI tools in legal workflows.

Nice to have

• Experience drafting and negotiating SaaS contracts.
• Commercial leasing experience.
• Prior in-house legal department experience.
