Associate Corporate Counsel (AI Marketplace)

Location: San Francisco, United States; on-site

Salary: $200,000–$240,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Draft, review, and negotiate customer, vendor, partnership, and other commercial agreements.
• Advise Product and Operations on marketplace policies, new features, recruiter and customer relationships, and emerging legal issues.
• Support employment matters, including performance management, terminations, compensation, policies, and employee relations.
• Support financings, equity matters, corporate governance, board matters, and strategic transactions.
• Support privacy, data protection, security, and broader compliance programs.
• Build legal processes, templates, playbooks, contracting workflows, and systems that help the business scale.

Requirements

• Active U.S. bar membership and eligibility to practice as in-house counsel in California.
• 4+ years of relevant legal experience, including experience advising technology or high-growth companies.
• Experience with marketplace, platform, or recruiting/staffing businesses, including worker classification and customer/provider relationships.
• Strong experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
• Ability to work across corporate, commercial, employment, product, privacy, compliance, and emerging legal matters.
• Strong business judgment, communication, stakeholder management, and comfort operating in ambiguity.

Nice to have

• Combination of law firm and in-house experience at a startup or high-growth technology company.
• Experience partnering with Product and Engineering on privacy, data protection, AI, and product counseling.
• Experience with financings, equity, corporate governance, board matters, M&A, or legal infrastructure.
• Experience managing outside counsel and using AI tools in daily workflows.
