Senior Commercial Counsel (AI)

Location: On-site in the Union Square office, New York City, United States

Base salary: $200,000–$240,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Review, redline, and negotiate sell-side commercial, procurement, partnership, and bespoke business development agreements.
• Serve as the primary legal contact for Sales throughout the deal process, from initial review through contract execution.
• Create and maintain contract templates and playbooks to improve contracting efficiency.
• Implement and continuously improve the company’s AI legal operations strategy.
• Monitor data privacy, AI, and IP regulations and provide actionable business guidance.

Requirements

• 6–10 years of legal experience, including at least 2 years negotiating B2B SaaS contracts in a global, data-centric, in-house SaaS organization.
• U.S. license to practice law.
• Ability to independently manage the sales contract review process in a fast-paced, high-velocity environment.
• Experience with the transactional aspects of GDPR and balancing legal risk with business needs.
• Excellent judgment, critical thinking, communication, and escalation skills.
• Ability to explain legal concepts clearly to non-lawyers and build scalable processes.
