Senior Systems Architect

Location: Hybrid/on-site, with at least 4 days per week in the office, based in Arlington, VA or Mount Laurel, NJ.

Salary: $135,000–$273,000 per year; additional pay ranges of $135,000–$231,000 and $164,000–$273,000 may apply based on experience, skills, and education.

What you will do

• Develop test and data algorithms that reduce instrumentation and data streams into meaningful measures of system actions, behaviors, and outcomes.
• Translate customer and operational needs into system performance requirements and compatible technical interfaces.
• Design, integrate, test, and deploy complex tactical and test systems using advanced systems and software engineering practices.
• Lead interdisciplinary development and deployment teams and resolve cross-functional technical challenges with customers and users.
• Analyze and decompose requirements, review software designs, create test cases, procedures, and plans, and troubleshoot discrepancies.
• Optimize system-of-systems and system architectures and determine SysML model implementations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or another STEM field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 7–10+ years of experience building, testing, and fielding products.
• Experience with systems engineering and software engineering best practices, system integration, verification, validation, and test methodology development.
• Ability to convert program requirements into viable technical solutions and assess system behavior against specifications.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
• Ability to work on-site at least four days per week, with potential hybrid flexibility, and travel approximately 10%.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of AESA or DBF radar designs, distributed kill chains, combat systems, and distributed data management.
• Experience creating agentic AI workflows, implementing algorithms in C++, Python, MATLAB, or other languages, and working with SysML or UML.
• Experience with complex DoD or distributed software systems, Agile processes, data visualization, instrumentation, and data reduction.
• Familiarity with requirements management tools such as DOORS and software interface definition.
