Location: Washington, D.C.–Baltimore area; hybrid remote work with required onsite visits to a SCIF in the DC area. US-based candidates must reside in one of the listed eligible states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, DC, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, North Carolina, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, or West Virginia. International hiring is limited to the United Kingdom.
Salary: $175,000–$250,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do
- Architect and implement Python-based ETL frameworks, orchestration layers, and high-throughput data pipelines.
- Design and optimize Kafka- or RabbitMQ-based real-time event-driven streaming systems.
- Build and scale FastAPI microservices with strong performance, security, and observability.
- Lead MongoDB data modeling, indexing, aggregation, sharding, replication, and performance tuning.
- Design Redis-based caching, session management, and high-speed data access layers.
- Lead architecture reviews, define engineering standards, apply Secure SDLC practices, and resolve complex production issues.
Requirements
- Expert-level Python experience across ETL systems, microservices, and distributed data processing.
- Strong FastAPI, Kafka or RabbitMQ, MongoDB, and Redis or similar in-memory database experience.
- Strong Linux proficiency and hands-on Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS experience.
- Experience debugging complex distributed or high-scale systems and applying secure architecture patterns.
- Experience implementing Agentic AI workflows with LangChain and CrewAI.
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
Nice to have
- Space industry data familiarity.
- Current and active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Experience with distributed systems, RAG pipelines, and modern cloud-native development.
