Software Enabling and Optimization Architect

Location: Austin, Texas, United States; hybrid work model with time split between the assigned hirify.global site and off-site work. Travel may be required, less than 5%.

Annual salary range: $149,600–$284,580 USD

What you will do

• Debug and optimize scientific applications running on hirify.global CPUs and GPUs.
• Support the development of AI-assisted scientific workflows.
• Make high-level design choices for software structures, frameworks, protocols, and algorithms.
• Define coding practices, development tools, and validation requirements.
• Evaluate ecosystem technology designs and readiness across diverse teams.
• Work with senior technologists, developers, project managers, and customers to assess requirements and feasibility.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, computational science, mathematics, physics, or a related field, with 6+ years of relevant experience; equivalent experience expectations are 4+ years with a master’s degree or 2+ years with a PhD.
• 3+ years of experience with computer architecture and power or performance software optimization.
• Experience with at least one programming language, such as Python or C++.
• Experience with parallel programming models, frameworks, or tools such as OpenMP or MPI.
• Understanding of open-source software communities and related ecosystems.
• Strong communication skills for conveying architectural intent and technical requirements across diverse teams.

• Postgraduate degree in a relevant technical or scientific field.
