Location: Remote camp in Hope Bay, Nunavut, Canada; fly-in/fly-out from Edmonton, Alberta or Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. The role requires residing on site during extended rotational periods and may involve workdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Salary: CAD 70,000–90,000 hourly.

What you will do

  • Provide an approachable, confidential on-site support resource for camp-based employees.
  • Build relationships across housekeeping, janitorial, kitchen, dining, and other support-service teams.
  • Support Indigenous and Inuit employees as a cultural liaison and advocate.
  • Coordinate employee onboarding, site introductions, orientation sessions, and facility familiarization tours.
  • Identify workplace concerns, support informal conflict resolution, and contribute to engagement and retention initiatives.
  • Work with supervisors, camp management, and Human Resources on employee integration, accommodations, and workplace improvements.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in employee relations, Human Resources, workforce support, community relations, Indigenous relations, social services, hospitality leadership, or a related people-focused role.
  • Experience supporting employees in diverse, multicultural, community-based, industrial, hospitality, or remote environments.
  • Experience working respectfully with Indigenous peoples and communities, with strong cultural awareness.
  • Strong communication, listening, relationship-building, confidentiality, organizational, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment, hold a valid driver’s licence, and travel as required.
  • Ability to reside in a remote northern camp, complete fly-in/fly-out travel, and pass required drug and alcohol testing.

Nice to have

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Indigenous Studies, Social Work, Community Development, Business Administration, Hospitality, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Experience in remote camps, mining, construction, hospitality, workforce accommodation, Indigenous employment, or workforce development.
  • Knowledge of northern, Inuit, First Nations, or Métis cultures and communities.
  • Mental health first aid, Indigenous cultural awareness, or conflict-resolution training.
