Senior Calibration Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Hybrid in Milford, Michigan, with on-site presence at least three times per week. The role is not eligible for relocation benefits.

What you will do

• Lead ETC/Torque Security propulsion calibration from strategy and test planning through validation and release to GVDP milestones.
• Design and execute tests, analyze vehicle and CAN data, and identify calibration and design improvements.
• Own CTF fleet feedback, special-support efforts, emerging field issues, and launch-critical calibration concerns.
• Lead issue triage, root-cause analysis, resolution coordination, and risk communication across technical forums.
• Collaborate with calibrators, technical specialists, development, validation, manufacturing, and external partners.
• Mentor calibration engineers and share methods, tools, best practices, recommendations, and risk assessments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, computer engineering, computer science, mathematics, or a related field, plus at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Extensive hands-on experience developing, validating, and releasing propulsion calibrations to program timing.
• Proficiency with calibration and data-acquisition tools such as INCA/ETAS and vehicle CAN data-recording systems.
• Deep understanding of propulsion control systems, subsystem interactions, advanced test design, and data analysis.
• Proven ability to resolve complex or ambiguous issues, manage risks, and deliver under timing and quality pressure.

Nice to have

• Master of Science in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Experience with additional calibration and analysis tools, cross-program troubleshooting, TRB activities, or similar technical forums.
• Broad knowledge of hardware design and release processes and physical hardware interactions within engines or transmissions.
