Engineer, Function Development & Calibration Drivability (Automotive)

Location: Novi, Michigan, United States; 4-5 days per week in the office. Regular in-person meetings, company events, and occasional travel are required.

Salary: $110,000-$135,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

hirify.global is developing all-electric and range-extender pickup trucks and rugged SUVs based on the Scout brand.

What you will do

• Own the development, integration, calibration, execution, and validation of assigned drive system functions.
• Define requirements and design functions related to drivability and torque control.
• Modify vehicle and powertrain calibration for BEV drivability functions and torque paths.
• Develop a Scout-specific driving experience in collaboration with powertrain hardware and chassis tuning teams.
• Lead calibration activities across prototype and serial development phases.
• Build prototypes, coordinate software implementation, and solve engineering and functional challenges with architecture and systems teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, technology, IT systems, or engineering technology; electrical engineering is preferred.
• 4+ years of experience in concept or serial development focused on software function calibration and validation.
• Experience with calibration tools including ETAS and Matlab, as well as calibration on test benches and vehicles.
• Experience with drive system function development, integration, and testing related to drivability and torque control.
• Ability to evaluate vehicle attributes for electric or range-extender SUVs.
• Ability to read Simulink flow diagrams and C programming source code, with strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
