Senior Serviceability Design Engineer (Automotive)

TL;DR

Senior Serviceability Design Engineer (Automotive): Managing serviceability and re-manufacturability during the Design Development Process for military vehicles with an accent on Service Parts BOM and technical manuals. Focus on optimizing maintenance procedures, validating special tools, and ensuring compliance with ITAR and GMD customer requirements.

Location: Hybrid. Must report to Warren or Milford, Michigan at least 3 times per week.

What you will do

• Lead the identification of Service Parts and development of the Service Parts BOM.
• Support the development and validation of service special tools and procedures.
• Provide technical support to Program Management, Product Engineering, Parts Release, and Field Support teams.
• Collaborate with departments and suppliers to implement cost reductions and math improvements.
• Coordinate communications between internal teams and external customer organizations.
• Ensure all activities adhere to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, asylee, or refugee).
• Eligible to obtain Secret U.S. Security Clearance after hire.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience with 5+ years of professional experience.
• Demonstrated experience in Serviceability Engineering, Field Service, or Product Support.
• Ability to read engineering schematics and practical diagnostic experience.
• No immigration sponsorship provided.

Nice to have

• Active Secret U.S. Security Clearance as of the first day of work.
• Experience with military applications and automotive diagnostic tools (TLC/GDS2/SI/SPS).
• Technical writing background and illustration/graphics development skills.
• Dealership technician or equivalent military experience.
