Software Engineer, Cumberland/FICCO Tools Engineering

Location: New York City, United States

Salary: $175,000–$225,000 annual base salary, plus an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Build best-in-class trading tools for Cumberland and FICC options trading desks.
• Embed directly with trading desks to understand problem spaces, navigate ambiguity, and deliver specialized production systems.
• Own products end to end, from rapid prototypes through stable production releases.
• Extract reusable domain models and patterns, making tools available across trading desks.
• Build, maintain, and extend the central trading platform across greenfield and legacy systems.
• Provide on-call support as needed.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience using Python, Java, and C++, with the ability to work comfortably across multiple programming languages.
• Experience working directly with end customers and delivering production systems in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
• Ability to analyze complex problems, identify risks early, and minimize unnecessary complexity.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with stakeholders and engineers.
• Experience in financial markets, especially delta-one store-of-value products and/or FICC options trading.
• Experience with Linux-based, concurrent, high-throughput, and low-latency software systems, plus a degree in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent experience.
