Senior Software Engineer I (Data Engineering)

Location: New York, New York, United States; hybrid schedule with 2–3 days per week in the Soho office

Salary: $200,000–$230,000 annual salary for New York residents, plus an annual bonus

What you will do

• Build, maintain, and improve a high-quality data platform serving internal and external clients.
• Develop and maintain internal user interfaces for interacting with financial-market data.
• Implement software features according to estimates and deliver changes through production deployment.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to define requirements and deliver software solutions.
• Perform code reviews, unit testing, data orchestration, and application deployment activities.
• Evaluate emerging data-engineering technologies and advocate for appropriate adoption.

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of software-development experience with TypeScript, C#, or Java.
• Experience with Python for data tasks and with frontend toolkits such as React and TailwindCSS.
• Understanding of modern data architectures, including medallion architectures and data lakes.
• Experience with private markets or financial services, specifically financial-markets data.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, data orchestration, application deployments, code quality, PostgreSQL, SQL, Git, GitHub, and AWS or comparable cloud platforms.
• Ability to manage changes from planning through deployment while coding across backend and frontend systems.

Nice to have

• Experience migrating legacy systems to modern technology stacks.
• Knowledge of real-time data processing and event-driven architectures using WebSockets or Kafka.
• Experience leading offshore or nearshore teams.
• Experience with large language models and agentic workflows.
