Staff Software Engineer (C/C++)

Location: Hybrid in Santa Clara, California, or remote from North Carolina, United States

Salary: $225,000–$275,000 annually, plus equity and bonus opportunities.

What you will do

• Design, prototype, implement, and deliver scalable software-defined storage components.
• Drive technical design discussions and contribute to high-quality product development.
• Conduct code reviews and improve solution scalability, stability, reliability, and performance.
• Collaborate with software developers and program management to deliver product releases.
• Contribute to and validate product documentation.
• Manage assigned projects, provide progress reports, and travel for team meetings or training when required.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software development experience involving file systems, concurrency, multithreading, server architectures, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience developing and debugging system-level C/C++ software in Linux/UNIX environments.
• Experience with scale-out and high-availability storage solutions.
• Bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement in Santa Clara or remotely from North Carolina.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of parallel file systems such as Lustre or GPFS.
• Experience with NVM storage technology or distributed key-value storage systems.
