Salary: $122,000–$167,000 USD annually, plus equity.

What you will do

  • Serve as the technical point of contact for rocket parts and assemblies, resolving manufacturing and quality issues that affect production schedules.
  • Lead new product introduction by selecting manufacturing methods, identifying suppliers, and developing scalable production processes.
  • Conduct design for manufacturing reviews and apply APQP, PPAP, FAIR, and 8D quality methodologies.
  • Manage supplier sourcing and evaluations, issue corrective actions, and improve supplier performance.
  • Create specifications covering quality and manufacturing requirements for the supply base.
  • Analyze defect data and lead root cause investigations for space-quality hardware.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, or a related STEM field.
  • 8+ years of experience in supplier quality or supplier development engineering.
  • In-depth knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and NASA quality standards.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes for space-quality hardware, including forming, cutting, machining, and assembly of stainless and carbon steels.
  • Experience with PPAP, APQP, FAIRs, 8D problem solving, new product development, and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Ability to define and own processes from scratch and roll them out to diverse teams; willingness to travel up to 50% when needed.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with high-volume inspection and data-driven acceptance methods.
  • Knowledge of PLM, ERP, and MES enterprise applications.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and experience implementing new product development processes.
