Senior Supplier Development Engineer, Mechanical (Aerospace)

Location: Los Angeles, CA, United States. The role requires travel up to 25–50% of the time.

Base salary: $130,000–$165,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Define and implement supplier development strategies across the supply chain.
• Assess supplier capabilities, technologies, and ability to meet manufacturing requirements.
• Manage Production Part Approval Process, rate, and reliability campaigns to enable production.
• Lead containments, issue resolution, and supplier corrective action activities.
• Evaluate supplier quality through scorecards and audits, driving improvements against quality standards.
• Work with engineering, manufacturing, production, and procurement teams to define supplier production roadmaps.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in quality, reliability, supply chain, or engineering.
• Strong understanding of ISO 9001, AS9100, PPAP, and related quality tools.
• Experience managing vendors, suppliers, and strategic technical partners.
• Access to ITAR-controlled information requires U.S. person status or eligibility for a federally issued export control license.
• Ability to travel 25–50% of the time.

Nice to have

• Expertise in mechanical commodities such as machined parts, mechanisms, and composites.
• Knowledge of Lean concepts.
• Experience in new product introduction environments.
• Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
• Experience with data analytics and SQL.
