Supplier Quality Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; onsite

Salary: $100,000–$130,380 for Quality Engineer II or $123,000–$174,920 for Senior Quality Engineer; California pay range listed as $100,000–$174,000 USD.

Develops next-generation commercial space stations and spacecraft for human presence, microgravity research, manufacturing, and space-based services.

What you will do

• Evaluate, onboard, audit, and assess suppliers against quality standards.
• Build supplier relationships, identify supply-chain risks, and implement improvement plans.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and procurement teams on part, assembly, and subsystem requirements.
• Define supplier technical and quality requirements for new product introduction and manufacturing.
• Analyze quality and delivery metrics, identify systemic gaps, and drive corrective and preventive actions.
• Conduct DFM reviews and lead root-cause investigations for manufacturing or supply-chain escapes and contaminants.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or another engineering discipline.
• At least 4 years of experience manufacturing and/or inspecting mechanical products in a production environment.
• Strong ownership, technical judgment, communication, project leadership, and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends during critical mission milestones.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted and travel up to 50% of the time.
• Must be a U.S. person under U.S. export-control regulations or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or another engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, process, reliability, or design engineering.
• Experience with GD&T, ISO 9000, AS9100, NADCAP, PPAP, APQP, and FAI reports.
• Experience with MSA, GR&R, Design of Experiments, Six Sigma, and other statistical methods.
